-Roermond- Bisschop Harrie Smeets (60) is vrijdagmiddag thuis onwel geworden. Hij is met de ambulance ter observatie naar het ziekenhuis gebracht, waar hij nog steeds verblijft.
Volgens een woordvoerder van het Bisdom is de Bisschop bij kennis en gaat het inmiddels beter met hem. Smeets wordt ter observatie in het ziekenhuis gehouden. Volgens de woordvoerder zijn de onderzoeken nog gaande en is niet helemaal duidelijk wat er precies met de Bisschop aan de hand is.De honneurs worden nu waargenomen door hulpbisschop Everard de Jong.
